I have always hated those things and find them kitschy beyond even amused tolerance. I am reminded of the recent Germaine Greer quote “Cuddly toys are ugly monstrosities – and it’s time we stopped our kids from fetishising them”. It was met by such a storm of indignation, but I secretly agreed with her.
